Project 365, Days 41-60

Day 41: I am a full grown adult and I still need to roll up the cuffs of my sleeves because they are too long.

Day 42: She’s my dog but she loves to sit by my hubby

Day 43: Janelle dyed my hair. I was getting a little too gray. I like the red.

Day 44: It’s a dark picture, but it’s the best I could get of these two having fun in the snow.

Day 45: Day of of no soda. I’ve switched some of my beverages to lemonade and the rest to water.

Day 46: Her favorite spot to sit–on my husband’s shoulder

Day 47: Shaggy dog. He really needs a haircut

Day 48: When the stockmen at work don’t quite get their job done the right way 🙂

Day 49: Somebody got into my spaghetti and now has an orange face.

Day 50: Blizzard finally got his haircut. This used to be his fur. He’s not looking as good as a professional job, but it’s better than it was. I still have to do his face.

Day 51: It’s January and instead of snow, we have rain and puddles

Day 52: Janelle got the “Happy to Help” award for the month at work

Day 53: I still have to finish Blizzard’s face. He isn’t too thrilled with letting me do it

Day 54: It was health awareness day at work. I got a water bottle and a stress ball, plus a candy cane. Not sure what the candy cane has to do with wellness, but oh well

Day 55: New nails for winter

Day 56: Janelle has been practicing making herself look injured for a photo shoot she and her friends are doing to promote awareness for human trafficking

Day 57: I want a belly rub please

Day 58: Took the Christmas tree down and put the room back the way it was before

Day 59: I have no idea why somebody thought it was necessary to put these light switch plates in security cases. They’re only worth a few cents. Just another day at Walmart

Day 60: I went shopping for workout clothes and was able to get 2 sizes smaller than before Christmas.

Project 365, Days 1-20

Day 1: A perfect way to spend my birthday. Relaxing with a dog and the really soft, warm blanket my daughter got me.

Day 2: Getting ready for Thanksgiving. Peanut butter pie is in the freezer

Day 3: Blizzard doesn’t want me to fold the laundry today. I won’t argue with him.

Day 4: Nala loves her new treats, even though they make her look like she’s smoking

Day 5: Working retail on Thanksgiving means no time off. This year I got to work with my lovely daughter.

Day 6: Getting ready for next year’s vacation. The planning binder is ready to go.

Day 7: Christmas season is starting, so it’s time to watch Elf.

Day 8: Janelle and Gabe decorated our Christmas tree this year.

Day 9: We ended up making a quick trip to Chicago to bring Greg back to school after his car broke down. The weather was awful.

Day 10: This is how I spent my shift–on the computer doing CBLs (compter based learning). Not my favorite way to spend a shift.

Day 11:Stockings and mantel decor is done. Nala is waiting for hr stocking to get filled. She’s going to be waiting a while

Day 12: New nails for the Christmas season

Day 13: I found this ugly creature on Nala today. Totally gross

Day 14: Santa was at Walmart today

Day 15: The strange positions that dogs sleep in always amaze me.

Day 16: Blizzard is pouting and hiding. I had to get some crud out of his fur and this is his favorite hiding spot.

Day 17: Doing pain relief for a sore hip. It’s making getting through a 9 hour shift very difficult.

Day 18: Two sweet puppers keeping me company while I ice my sore hip

Day 19: Silly pupper. All she wants is a belly rub

Day 20: Janelle and her friend got tattoos today. Janelle designed hers on her own.

Project 365, Days 261-270

Day 261: Sunset over the lake

Day 262: We spent the day at the State Fair. We saw the sights and saw Matthew West and Casting Crowns in concert. This Ferris Wheel dominated the view as we were leaving after the concert

Day 263: Was told by a manager tonight that the parking lot was a mess and that I needed to get cashiers outside immediately to get all the carts in. This is what the lot looked like. Where’s the mess?

Day 264: It is going to be a long shift. A little caffeine never hurts, does it?

Day 265: I came home from work tonight, only a couple of short days before a party is happening here, to see this. The toilet is in the middle of the bathroom. Not exactly what I wanted to see. But, I’m told it’s an easy fix and will be fully operational tomorrow.

Day 266: I felt the need to get my nails looking good before the party.

Day 267: These two girls spent the day at the house getting everything ready for their graduation party tomorrow. It’s going to be a fun day

Day 268: Two Beautiful graduates. All grown up and ready to take on the world.

Day 269: As I was putting all the party supplies away, I stubbed my toe. I think it might be broken.

Day 270: It’s confirmed. Broken toe. I am now the proud wearer of this stylish boot.

Graduation 2018

Our youngest child graduated this spring. We had her graduation party last month and I am finally getting around to posting about it. Maybe the delay is part denial on my part. How could my baby be an adult?

She had her party with her good friend, so I had 2 girls to help me plan. We had the party at our house, outside. Thankfully, the weather cooperated and it was perfect weather.

The girls wanted a rustic-type theme for the party, so I found these pallets for the photo boards. They were so easy to put together. All it took was some twine, itty-bitty clothespins, and photos to hang. We also added their names on pre-cut banners. The two pallets didn’t provide enough room for all their photos, so they each added a couple of poster board photo boards, as well.

Setting up outside was relatively simple. We set up 2 10×20 canopies and put tables under them. The centerpieces were sunflowers with photos of the girls. We strung twinkle lights in the canopies that looked great once it got dark.

We also set up a screen tent for the cakes and beverages. Yes, we had 2 cakes. They were identical except for the names, one for each girl.

For entertainment, other than sitting around visiting, we rented a “picnic pack” from our local rec department. It consisted of various outdoor games–volleyball, corn hole, ladder golf, frisbee, tug-of-war and more. There was also lots of socializing. Since we live right on a lake, a few of the guests got a little wet.

The evening ended with a bonfire and s’mores

The two graduates: Janelle and Jessica

Project 365, Days 171-180

Day 171: Today was too nice of a day to stay inside, so we had class outside. I’m not sure how much actual learning took place, but we had a great time enjoying the warm sun.

Day 172: Little plants are also enjoying our nice weather. Soon, it will be time to transplant them into the garden.

Day 173: Some days at work just scream for something to drink when I get home. Today was one of those days.

Day 174: More signs of spring

Day 175: Time for new nails again. Something bright and cheerful this time

Day 176: Janelle went to prom with some of her friends. It’s hard to believe she’s a senior already. She’s grown up into a very beautiful young lady.

Day 177: Went for a walk with my husband today down a trail near our house. I am totally enjoying spring now that it is finally here.

Day 178: Two days after prom (and post-prom activities), Janelle is still a bit tired. She’s having a hard time staying awake in class.

Day 179: There is a virus going through the fish in the lake. If you look closely in this photo, you can see white things floating in the water. Those are dead fish, killed by the virus. Hopefully this will be over soon. Dead fish by the hundred do not smell good.

Day 180: Another sign of spring around here–lake flies. They are everywhere and if we’re not quick, get in the house every time we go in or out. Thankfully they only last a few days.

Project 365, Days 151-160

Day 151: One more from dress rehearsal. This was a very emotional dance. Makes me cry every time. It was a modern dance to the spoken word “To This Day”

Day 152: Here we go again. More snow, but not as much this time.

Day 153: After a play date with our neighbor dog, Bernie, Nala is all tired out

Day 154: After dance recital #1 of the weekend. Proud parents of a talented dancer. She’s still wearing her costume for the modern dance done to “Push It”

Day 155: Yes, even more dance photos. Dance kind of dominated the week this week. Her final performance with Wempner’s School of Dance. This one is ballet to “Once Upon a December”

Day 156: How can you tell if there’s a dancer in the house? Lots of flowers after recital weekend

Day 157: Best friend Jessy is helping to get the kinks and knots out of her tired body

Day 158: Blizzard is showing off his hair cut, which was long overdue

Day 159: New nails (again)

Day 160: I finally got Nala to sit still long enough to get a picture of her new haircut.

End of a season

Janelle’s final dance recital is over. It’s time for my baby girl to move on to bigger and better things. She’s grown up and is heading into a new season in her life. These are just a few of the hundreds of pictures and videos I took this week. Yes, I am a proud dance mom.
